My Adams Outcomes
We have four major goals that we make sure our graduates acquire here at Adams State University. Achieving these four goals will ensure a holistic learning and a successful career ahead. I have mapped my experiences into these Adams outcome to show an example of how we can demonstrate achieving these goals here.
Area 1:
Knowledge of Human Culture and the Physical world
My journey from a remote village of Nepal to an assistant professor at Adams State University has been a great experience of learning on different human cultures and the physical and natural world. Moving to a the part of country with different culture and identifying yourself as a minority early as a teenager gave me different prospective about the life. I learned early in life about how different culture and physical world have their own purpose of learning, understanding life and society. This Understanding further increased when I moved to the another side of the world for my Ph.D. I learned to adopt to a new environment and achieve excellence in professional as well as personal life. I started my career as an assistant professor with a great understanding of how to work and guide students coming from culturally and physically distant origin and strive to ensure all achieve their goals.
Area 2:
Intellectual and Practical Skills
My personal and professional journey so far is strongly driven by the constant pursuit of intellectual advancement. At an early age, I understood that having a strong desire to achieve that intellectual excellence is not sufficient to achieve what I was striving for. Being practical is very important to conquer the obstacles. I always believe in "do what you can from where you are with what you have". I walked through this long journey using this practical approach and will continue doing this throughout my life. I am setting up big goals for my students as well my own intellectual advancement and a very clear blueprint to achieve those goals. I am looking forward to our mutual growth.

Area 3:
Personal and Social Responsibility
I always believe in giving back to society. I try to do that by so many means. I do donations to the organizations working to provide the education and healthcare to underprivileged society around the globe throughout the year. I want to share my experience and knowledge of working in science to the population who need mentor, so I accept all the invitations coming for such communities to talk about my journey and how I will be helping people to achieve their goal.
Here at Adams State University, I am mentoring students outside the class, guiding them through their learning path and career planning. I also lead a team of judges for San Luis valley science fair to mentor, evaluate and encourage our future generation of scientists. I am looking forward to more opportunities to serve this society and transfer my knowledge to our future generation.

Area 4:
Integrative and Applied Learning
I am a person striving for multidisciplinary approach to understand the problem and use same approach to solve it. My teaching as well as research work are oriented towards that direction. We need out of the box thinking personal to address the challenges we are facing in this century. My published works have used multidisciplinary approach to develop the therapeutic methods. I am broadening the domains that I can use for my research work so that I will able to offer a better solution. This approach of integrative and applied learning has made me a better educator. I do teach my students to look at the problem through as many different dimensions as possible. This will enhance the importance university education.
